This Woman's Work - The Damn Millionaires
Biography

What is Southern Rock? What is Country? What is Folk? Complicated questions. Be Sure Your Sins Will Find You Out weaves together the depth, richness and occasional absurdity of what it means to be a Southern American alternately traveling toward and away from your home base.

The Damn Millionaires are a long-distance band with a long-distance mindset: Keep moving until you arrive at your destination, no matter how many miles it takes.

Allison Lowe Huff’s vocal purity is perfectly balanced between the sharply clever lines of her lyrics. Her luxurious voice ties together the pop, twang and rock stylings offered up by the band as they blast through Vince Chao’s melodic, inspired arrangements. Jesse Grinter and Chris Huff round out the sound with talent cultivated through a collective 30 years of solid live band and studio experience.

The songs, personal to the last, provide the listener with an insider’s look into a four-year window of time in the lives of far-flung friends who used this album to tie together quite a few loose threads in the crazy quilt of their disparate rock & roll experiences.

Be Sure Your Sins Will Find You Out, released in November 2005, is the result of thousands of miles traveled; hundreds of hours spent writing, playing, worrying and laughing; and, well, many cases of wine and beer.

In 2000, Vince and Allison sat around in Arlington, TX writing songs between working their real world jobs and playing with other bands. They kept it up even after two moves -- Al to Atlanta and Vince to Monroe, LA. When it came time to put some of these songs down on tape, Chris was forced through the legal obligations of marriage to play drums.

Jesse made the tragic misstep of dropping by the Chaos' house one night on a visit home to Monroe from his Hollywood lifestyle in Los Angeles, and we shoved a guitar in his hands, demanded that he play it, and harassed him into becoming a Damn Millionaire. That changed everything. The songs went from being "cool" to "INCREDIBLY AWESOME."

So, hell, they decided to make it official and record their first album in 2005 in Birmingham, AL.

The band got its name from Al's late grandfather, George Outlaw, who considered anyone with more than five dollars to their name to be a "damn millionaire."
