Little Voice, Big Dream

Whenever I read that a new up and coming songwriter is being compared to artists like Norah Jones and Fiona Apple, I tend to cringe ever so slightly. There must be something about Ms. Jones and Ms. Apple that lazy critics find so tempting to mention when trying to describe new music. So when I read that Sara Bareilles (pronounced ‘bar-rell-is’) is yet the latest artist to strike these comparisons, I nearly cast her aside in that growing pile of similarly described artists.
