The Best Is Yet To Come: The Songs Of Cy Coleman, a tribute album to the cherished songwriter, is due out on September 15. The collection features over fifteen of Coleman’s songs, each performed by many of today’s most respected female songwriters.
Coleman, who passed away in 2004, grew to fame as a composer, writing songs for the likes of Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett, and also writing the scores for many films.
The contributors include Fiona Apple, Patty Griffin, Sara Watkins, Missy Higgins, Nikka Costa, Jill Sobule, Madeleine Peyroux, Sam Phillips and Shivaree’s Ambrosia Parsley.
Three songs from this anticipated release are on now available on iTunes, where you can download Apple’s rendition of ‘Why Try To Change Me Now’, Griffin covering the title track, and Higgins’s version of ‘(I’m) In Love Again.’
